Ukama Community Foundation was set up to uplift and brighten the lives of township children in Western Cape, South Africa. It supports over 700 children in impoverished townships, where extreme poverty, high unemployment, and gangsterism are prevalent. These children rely on school as their main source of nutrition and safety. The Foundation provides two hot meals a day, learning support, and essential items to help children thrive.

Part of Ukama, a social enterprise helping women from disadvantaged communities establish microenterprises, the Foundation supports small businesses by hand-packing products like Barrett’s Ridge Beer Bread, imported and marketed in the UK by True Origin. “Ukama” is a Shona word meaning “we are related” or “we are family,” reflecting the organisation’s inclusive philosophy.

Each gift comes with a card and blank envelope, allowing you to share the story and impact with someone special. By contributing, you’re helping children access essential nutrition, education, and care while supporting women’s microenterprises.
