Easy Homemade Beer Bread Bagels
Perfect for lazy weekend brunches and batch cook lunches. These soft and chewy bagels couldn't be simpler to make, using just a few ingredients and your favourite Barrett's Ridge Beer Bread Mix.
Bagel ingredients:
500g Greek yoghurt
1 bag Barrett's Ridge Beer Bread Mix (any flavour)
1 egg, whisked (for egg wash)
Topping of your choice (Za'atar, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds or mixed seeds work all work well)
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a large baking tray with baking parchment.
In a large bowl, combine the Greek yoghurt and Barrett's Ridge Beer Bread Mix. Stir with a spoon until the mixture forms a rough dough, then bring it together with your hands. The dough will be quite sticky at this stage.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently until it becomes smooth and tacky rather than sticky.
Divide the dough into eight equal portions and roll each into a ball. Using your finger, create a hole through the centre of each ball and gently stretch to form a bagel shape.
Arrange the bagels on the prepared baking tray. Brush generously with the whisked egg and sprinkle over your chosen topping.
Bake for approximately 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Allow to cool slightly before serving with your favourite fillings.
Serving Suggestion: Crispy Chilli Egg Bagel

Looking for the ultimate brunch upgrade? Try your homemade bagels with this simple crispy chilli egg filling. The combination of soft bagel, silky egg and a gentle chilli kick makes for a delicious breakfast or weekend brunch.
Ingredients
1 homemade beer bread bagel, sliced in half
2 eggs, beaten
1 tbsp True Origin Crispy Chilli Oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Spring onions, finely sliced (optional)
Method
Heat a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and add the Crispy Chilli Oil.
Pour in the beaten eggs, allowing them to coat the base of the pan, and season with salt and pepper.
Place the bagel halves cut-side down into the egg while it is still soft.
Allow the egg to set, then carefully flip everything over so the bagel can toast and the egg develops a little crispness.
Add any additional toppings, fold if desired, and cook until golden.
Finish with sliced spring onions or an extra drizzle of Crispy Chilli Oil before serving.
